Lori Byrne, an Ohio native and Cleveland State University graduate, is proud to call northeast Ohio home. She joined Transfr in early 2022 as a State Workforce Manager. I've been in the education world for 19 years. From 2006–2018, I taught Physical Education and Health—three years in Phoenix, then outside Richmond, VA. Dawn Schiavone, CETL and M. ED, is currently the Student Data Privacy (SDP) Officer at Northern Buckeye Education Council in Northwest Ohio. She has been in education for over 35 years. Retiring after many years as CTO of two districts in NWO, Dawn has taken on a new role of educating districts on SDP and privacy laws. She also assists districts with developing an SDP plan, including developing a vendor assessment and ensuring vendors are keeping student data private. Dawn has the CETL designation and has presented numerous times at conferences including ETLA, A4L/PESC, OETC, FETC, CoSN, Brainstorm, and MACUL. She is the ETLA SDPC co-chair, is on the SDPC North American Leadership Group, and is a member of many leadership and planning committees with CoSN, ETLA, and A4L/SDPC.
Jon Smith is the Senior Teacher Success Manager for Book Creator and an Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2015. Since teaching himself to build a computer in his first year of teaching, educational technology has always been an integral part of his approach and game plan. I have been an educator since 1994. I have worked with PreK-8 graders in rural public school systems. I have worked with students on an IEP for the bulk of my career but obtained my gifted intervention endorsement in 2023 and have worked with students identified as gifted in reading grades 3-8 since then. I am married, have 2 fur rescues a cat and a dog, 3 adult children, 2 teen grandkids, one preschool grandson and 2 infant grandchildren,one born this June. Much love to go around. My parents are both here and actively a part of my life and they've been married since 1966 so they're charming. I feel blessed to teach and to learn something new every chance I get. I love the beach and camping.
